H A I R // Short Hair, Kind Of Care

Short Curly Hair For Girls

My hair is finally long enough to wear naturally without it looking like an oddly shaped afro!

It's been a long year since I went Rihanna-pixie short, but the chop had to happen, my hair was too damaged. I still love how I looked with the pixie, but I've missed my long curls, and so I shall have them again... One day. I'll post my entire hair journey of of these days.

This week was the start of my third term at school, where I study Fashion Marketing & Merchandising. I've been super duper busy the last six months, and have barely had time for anything except assignments - sometimes including food which horrifies me.

But the days have been getting warmer, and with the warm air a feeling of freedom (if slightly exaggerated) has come as well. So of course when yesterday my old friend Christina invited me to go downtown to Kengsinton Market with her, Sina and Jelena I said yes - I desperately needed a break.

But first we got food - how can one not? We went to Fresh, on Spadina, a vegetarian restaurant. Good Lord, I can't even begin to rave about the food. My mom is a vegetarian, but didn't raise my siblings and I to be - she wanted us to choose on our own. Trust me, I've tried to be a vegetarian.. I've got half a year and then give up. But let me tell you, if Fresh had a location within a half hour of my apartment, I would be a vegetarian no doubt.

I got the picnic burger with sweet potato fries and garlic mayo with kale slaw on the side (the first picture). It was like heaven in my mouth. I did not miss meat one bit. My other companions also raved about their food choices, especially the clubhouse wrap. It had crispy tofu and fake bacon, which Jelena says tastes exactly like the real thing.

After our little trip to food heaven, we went to Kensington Market. I especially love this place because it's so full of Toronto culture. Everywhere you look is handmade items, food markets, graffiti'd walls, and every type of person under the sun. One of my favourite places we'd visited is a small shop called Tribal, which features handmade beauty products from lotions, to hair oils, to scrubs and candles. I bought black soap, which helps with acne and uneven skin tone - both of which I've got on some level. I'll review the product once I've been using it for a while, but for now I'll just tell you that from the one use I've had, my face felt so much cleaner. Fun Fact about Tribal: it was featured in the New York Times  - so you know it's good.

Oh, I got this cute little ring from one of the places in Kensington where the man and his wife (with their adorable little boy) run a jewellery/vintage book store. The man makes the jewellery right in front of you. I wasn't allowed picture-taking but trust me, if you're ever at kensington market you'll know the place immediately - it's seriously fantastic.

L I F E | Collections

I have so many collections, my mom basically thinks I'm a hoarder. I figured I'd share a couple of my collections. I collect a ton of things, from lipsticks, to shoes, to necklaces, books and, believe it or not, thread. Haha, yeah.

P.S The cameras are all in working condition. I just need to find some more film for my polaroids.. if anyone knows where to buy some, please feel free to drop a link in the comments. I insist.

T R A C K L I S T | Lazy Sunday

I finally have a Sunday off work, and I am spending it practicing the fine art of being a Cat Lady (with only one cat), watching spanish soaps on mute, and putting together a playlist for future lazy Sundays.

1. Wild Belle - Keep You
2. Collie Buddz - Come Around
3. Bruno Mars ft. Damien Marley - Liquor Store Blues
4. The Evenings - Friend [Lover]
5. Lana Del Rey - Video Games
6. The Weeknd - High For This
7. Banks - Warm Water
8. Quasimoto - Planned Attack
9. Mikky Ekko - Pull Me Down (Ryan Hemsworth Remix)
10. Roc-Marciano - Peru
11. Jessie Ware - Strangest Feeling
12. Delilah - Breathe

P.S The photo has nothing to do with the above listed songs. You can find the photo on google images or tumblr.

L I F E | D3SIGN

My oldest sister, 26, got Married (it deserves a capital letter) this past weekend. Myself and my second oldest sister, 21,  got to be 2 out of 5 bridesmaids (yay!). The thing about Yesenia is that she's unconventional, expensive, and all about unique. So, while most brides get ready in a fancy shmancy hotel, my sister got ready at a modern furniture store called d3sign, in Toronto. The place was spectacular, I would have taken more pictures if I wasn't busy getting ready for her wedding.

The bathroom pictures have no filter. That's right, the pure white bathroom turns a lovely hot pink when the switch is flicked. Unconventional, and kind of trippy when you're trying to slip on a neon yellow dress, but cool nonetheless.

Bonus random picture of my sister and I! We look nothing alike, I know.

B E A U T Y | Haul

What's this? Two updates in one day? *gasp*

Yussir. To make up for my serious lack of updates, I'm going to do a haul. Huzzah, and whatnot. Today is second oldest sisters 21st birthday, so yesterday, after I bought her gift (the pandora bracelet), I decided to treat myself for some much-needed lipsticks. My current ones were running low (sad, sad).
